[] – update 2025: – [sellers photo below, but my purchase] – I now have this also, it’s kind of like the ‘coat of arms’ of my generation, – [so having it on a UK Police Riot Sheild just feels so appropriate.., and in a profoundly ironic way too] – and I’m just as surprised as everyone else, – who knew me before I hit the age of 14, – that I ended up living that crazy, drug fuelled, music driven lifestyle. – Still, it really helped in opening up/triggering my artistic nature, and in ways that still colour my perception and creativity all these years later. Over recent years, I have bought some of the newer 303-Acid boxes, just to get myself aurally tweaked again, with that ‘Acid sound’.., as tweaking the knobs of an Acid-box, while it screams and squeals over the top of a minimal TR-909 drum pattern is an extremely satisfying, and oddly intoxicating, sonic experience… – I sold my original Roland TB-303, – [which I bought in’89 for £250] – in the early 2000’s, to a young Scottish fella working in London.., studying law, IIRC. – It was in immaculate condition, I could have sold it for thousands, but I’m not like that, I sold it for what I thought was a fair price for the actual device, while making a small profit.., I sold it for £450, – even threw in a brand new power supply, plus I still had the original box, manual, official Roland carry bag and protective polystyrene packing. – As much as I love occasionally messing about with such toys in my own time, I feel the genre has now been done to death. – Personally, I’d never clog up the internet with more Acid-Trax, unless it was an absolute banger.., although I have been guilty of that, once or twice, in the distant past. – Very rarely does a new authentic Acid Track catch my attention.., but the last one that did was by, – The Subdermic, – and the track’s called, – ‘Scaring The Horses’ [Acid House Mix 2016] –
